FAQ

What does Inspark OER offer?

Inspark OER offers four tools (Review It, Process It, Chart It, and Tour It) and curated OER content for 7 course subjects. These have been available since Spring 2022.

We are also offering grant funding of up to $10K for institutions to use Inspark OER. We are accepting proposals on a rolling basis.

Who can use Inspark OER resources?

Inspark OER is available through all LMSs to all institutions.

How much does Inspark OER cost?

To use the full textbook in our Argos platform (enabling LMS integration, authoring, versioning, grade sync, analytics) the cost will be $18. The OER is still available at no cost to use on other platforms. We worked closely with our partner institutions to determine the costs per enrollment, which goes towards hosting, technology, product improvements, and support costs, needed to make the project sustainable. Inspark OER Tools can be provided as assignments through the bookstore or as an LMS tool subscription purchased by the institution. The cost is $3 (one Tool per course), or $5 (all four Tools per course) per enrollment. Inspark OER is not-for-profit, operated out of Arizona State University, and the above is a projection to cover our raw operating costs.

When can I use these tools?

Now, since Spring 2022! To reserve a spot, sign up to teach to let our team know, and we will help you get set up.

How do I get the tools and content in my LMS?

For Tools, make sure a LMS admin from your institution has followed the "How do I integrate...?" article steps. That only needs to be done once for your institution. Then, any instructor can can add the tools!

For Course Packages, a LMS admin must follow these steps to get the Argos platform integrated. As an instructor, follow the Argos "Getting Started" articles.

Is Inspark OER open source?
